Cuddlebugs Senior Campers

Our goal for Cuddlebugs Senior Summer Camp is to keep your children learning through fun hands-on projects.  Research shows that this type of interactive learning is beneficial to learning and can increase retention of new information.  This summer we will be studying Virginia through map work, research projects, mentoring, and fun field trips.  Make sure you encourage your child to share with you the fun activities they have done each day!

On top of the wonderful activities that your child’s teacher will plan based on our weekly themes, we will have special activities each day.  Below is a description of the activities planned.  Please remember it is very important that your child has his/her water bottle with them EVERY day and wears shoes that are appropriate for running, jumping, and having fun.  If your child is not a swimmer yet and cannot reach the bottom comfortably at 3 feet, we ask that you send in a puddlejumper or coast guard approved life vest on pool days.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask us!

Monday- Theme Day

The children will prepare and begin the theme for the week.  They will begin fun science projects, work on preparing props for a play, explore music and fine arts, or start a research project.  So many things to do!

Tuesday & Thursday- Pool Day

We will visit Pleasant Valley Pool from 10:00am-12:00pm.  Bring your child to school in his/her bathing suit so we can be ready to go to the pool!  Don’t forget to wear sunscreen and send in a towel with a change of clothes in a closed bag that your child can carry!

Wednesday- Out and About Day

Each week we will either be visiting the Warsaw Town Park, Richmond County Public Library, Tappahannock Town Park, or working on our Service Projects.  These trips will be on the weekly field trip schedule.

Friday- Big Friday

Each week there will be a planned activity that relates to our theme.  Field trips are noted in our weekly schedule.  We plan on doing lots of fun learning this summer!
